L-com expands its HyperLink brand outdoor lightning surge protector line with seven new models

North Andover, MA – May 15, 2008 – L-com Global Connectivity is pleased to announce seven new additions to its HyperLink Lightning Surge Protector line. These new models all feature compact weather resistant housings.

Designed for CAT5, CAT5e and CAT6 compatibility, the AL-CAT6JW (RJ45 model) and AL-CAT6PW (Punch Down Terminals) provide superior lightning and surge protection for both indoor and outdoor 10/100/1000 Base-T Gigabit Ethernet networks. In addition, the unit is compatible with 802.11af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices. Integral to the design is protection for the four Ethernet data pairs and the PoE DC power feed.

For maximum protection of 10/100 Base-T there is the new AL-CAT5HPJW. This is an outdoor version of our popular HLGN-CAT5-HP lightning and surge protector. The AL-CAT5HPJW provides 3-stage surge protection giving the user an added level of protection due to its large power rating and safety due to its failsafe architecture. In the event of a catastrophic surge event, the series resistors will fuse and the shunt diodes will short. This will safely disconnect the line from the datacom equipment.

For lightning and surge protection of Telephone and DSL lines there is the AL-DSLJW and AL-DSLSW protectors. Both of these new weather resistant protectors feature 3-stage surge protection which provides a higher level of protection. The AL-DSLJW features two RJ11 jacks for ease of installation. If terminal strips are needed use the AL-DSLSW.

Lastly there are our two new weather resistant differential data line protectors. The AL-D2W-05 is a high performance 3-stage lightning protector provides superior protection of differential or balanced digital or analog lines from transients and surges. This model will protect two pairs of differential data or analog signal/control lines. It is ideal for protection of RS-422/485 lines, RTD’s and T1/E1/J1 lines. Similar in design to the AL-D2W-05, the AL-D2W-12 is ideal for protection of sensors, control lines and RS-232 lines.
