L-com's Latest Industrial Enclosures Withstand Temperatures up to 302°F (150°C)

NORTH ANDOVER, MA - 3/29/13 - L-com, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, has released two new lines of weatherproof industrial enclosures that are constructed from molded halogen free, self-extinguishing fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP). Both lines of enclosures come in up to eight different sizes, with various mounting plate options, and are well suited for high temperature or corrosive environments with temperatures up to 302°F (150°C).

The NBC series weatherproof enclosures feature fully-removable gasketed lids that are secured to the base by four stainless steel captive screws. Since the lid does not swing open on hinges, these are ideal for applications that require limited access to the enclosure's contents. The NBN series weatherproof enclosures feature gasketed lids that swing open on two non-metallic hinges and are secured closed by two stainless steel captive screws. Both units are UL® listed, NEMA 4x / IP66-11 rated, and can be purchased with or without either blank non-metallic or aluminum mounting plates.

"The quality of the construction in electronics enclosures is critical," said Patrick Pesa, Director of Product Development. "These enclosures are designed for use in extremely harsh environments such as mines, hydraulic or pneumatic control installations, and petrochemical refineries. They are made to endure all manner of abuse and keep the sensitive electronics inside safe."

Sizes for the new enclosures range from a small, 6"x6"x4" (15.2cm x 15.2cm x 10.2cm) model to a large, 18"x16"x8" (45.7cm x 40.6cm x 20.3cm) model. Besides the blank mounting plates, L-com can customize the drill holes or cutouts to enable any mounting pattern desired, and options such as heating, cooling, and vented versions can be offered. Datasheets and detailed 2D engineering drawings are available for free download from L-com's website.
