Description

The HGLND-CAT5EJW DIN mountable 3-stage lightning protector provides superior lightning and surge protection for indoor and outdoor 10/100 Base-T Ethernet networks. Also compatible with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices, this unit provides protection to both Ethernet data pairs as well as the PoE DC power feed. The HGLND-CAT5EJW is compatible with Wireless Access Points, Access Servers and Routers, with or without Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) functionality.

The unit features a low capacitance diode array that can withstand large surge currents. The design utilizes a Thyristor diode which switches to a low impedance state once triggered. This offers superior power handling capability compared to TVS or Zener diode based designs. The limits are +/- 58 volts on the four cable pairs.

The HGLND-CAT5EJW features shielded RJ45 jacks. This along with the metal housing helps reduce the effects of EMI interference. A ground lug and terminal is provided directly on the lightning protector housing, providing superior grounding. A second ground and terminal is provided for strapping multiple units together.

This unit can be mounted to a DIN 3 rail using the DIN mounting clip located on the rear of the unit.
