Indoor Lightning and Surge Protectors Mount On Standard In-Wall Electrical/Conduit Boxes NORTH ANDOVER, MA – November 14, 2011– L-com, Inc., a global leader in the manufacture of wired and wireless connectivity products, has developed lightning and surge protectors that are pre-mounted in stainless steel wall plates designed to mount to standard in-wall electrical/conduit boxes. The new products offer an aesthetic solution to lightning and surge protection in homes and offices. Previously, providing protection required mounting the protector on a wall or shelf and running extra cables to and from the protector. This new solution is perfect for new construction and buildings with existing in-wall Ethernet and telephone/DSL wiring. The four new items include protection for Cat5, Cat5e, and Cat6 lines, shielded or unshielded, as well as telephone, DSL, and T1 lines. “Providing protection from lightning and electrical surges is crucial to home and business owners,” said Patrick Pesa, Director of Product Management. “But running extra wires and mounting a large protector is not acceptable in many situations. The new WP series allows customers to safely and aesthetically protect their electronic equipment.” The new Cat5, Cat5e, and Cat6 protectors are PoE compatible. The telephone, DSL and T1 protectors feature superior three-stage protection using a Thyristor diode technology.
