L-com’s Unpopulated 19-Inch Panels Feature 16-Port and 2-Port ECF-Style Openings
IRVINE, Calif. − L-com, an Infinite Electronics brand and a supplier of wired and wireless connectivity products, has just added two new lines of blank unpopulated USB rack panels and sub panels for those who like to DIY.
The new line of USB 3.0 couplers use L-com’s Newer ECF-style mounting flange design. While the drawings for these new couplers provided the cutout dimensions to mount them, L-com now has panel products ready to accommodate them right out of the box.
Due to their design, the new USB 3.0 couplers have differing cutout dimensions for mounting that are designated as ECF Type 2, 3 or 4. Now L-com offers corresponding panels for each ECF style.
L-com has 20 different pre-populated panels with a choice of 16 or 2 of the same style couplers already installed. However, the company now also offers these new unpopulated panels and sub panels to meet the need for projects that require a different combination of connectors or for customers who prefer to be more do-it-yourself.
These unpopulated panels are available in two family types. The first consists of three 1 RU 19-inch-wide rack mount panels with 16 ECF-style Type 2, 3 or 4 openings that can be mounted to any standard 19-inch rack. The second is three USP-style sub panels with two ECF Type 2, 3 or 4 openings. The USP sub panels are designed to be used with L-com’s universal master rack system panel UPR35-6B, which allows users to mount up to six USP sub panels in the frame. The UPR35-6B is a 2 RU rack panel frame and can be mounted to any standard 19-inch rack.
The UPR35-6B offers the convenience of a truly modular design, allowing users to mix and match any of L-com’s populated or unpopulated USP sub panels in the six openings in the frame to accommodate any connectivity requirements.
The 1 RU, 19-inch-wide rack-mount panels and USP sub panels are made of cold-rolled steel with a black powder coat finish. The sub panels come with four 6-32 screws for quick installation.
L-com also offers a cable management bracket, PR-CMB, that can be installed on the 16-port panels as well as the UPR35-6B master rack panel. The bracket provides strain relief for any hanging cables and reduces strain on the connector interfaces.
