Ethernet Switches - Commercial &  Industrial Network Gigabit, 10G

At L-com, we are a global leader of wired and wireless connectivity products, offering a wide range of solutions across many key industries, including electronics, medical, industrial automation, military, and telecom.

As more devices become connected to the internet, it becomes necessary to relay data between connected devices and wider networks in a way that can be physically and virtually secure. An ethernet switch is the component that manages to transmit the data packet exclusively to its destination port, while minimizing the number of collisions. This means the higher the efficiency of the switch, the better the network effectiveness.

L-com’s ethernet switches cater to all applications from small businesses to large, industrial networks and have been successfully installed across several industries from manufacturing and mining, to power plants and wastewater treatment plants.

Our main categories are:

L-com’s commercial rated ethernet switches are typically indicated for enterprises or small to medium businesses. They come as easy-to-deploy, plug-and-play, unmanaged switches or as Layer 3 managed switches for advanced networking applications.

In addition to its own, we also offer some of the best known manufacturers in industrial ethernet switches the ethernet switching industry including Planet Technologies and EtherWAN. For instance, the SW series from Planet Technology is meant for smaller networks of 10 to 50 users and is an economical option for home or home-office users. They come with easy-to-read LEDs for monitoring network connectivity and packet flow.

Netgear’s Gigabit switches (GS series) allow users to migrate to higher speeds over time by auto-negotiating between 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps connections.

Among 10G ethernet switches we stock Netgear 10G, EtherWAN 10G and Planet 10G. Netgear’s SWTC-XS708E has 8, 10 Gigabit RJ45 ports and one SFP+ slot which offers additional network flexibility making it a versatile tool to upgrade into a 10G network. On the other hand, EtherWAN's EX17000 Series PoE 10/100BASE Fast Ethernet Web-Smart PoE Ethernet Switches are designed to operate in the small or medium network environment to provide Power to PoE driven devices, such as PoE IP cameras.

The advantage with Planet’s MGSW-28240F is that it can function across temperatures from -10 to 60 degrees C without any packet loss or CRC errors and with a wire-speed throughput as high as 128 Gbps.

For industrial applications involving harsh conditions, we have L-com’s IES series, as well as from other manufacturers like Planet, EtherWAN and Hirschmann. The IES series has a plug and play operation and is powered by an external 24V DC power supply which is sold separately.

Planet has a robust series of industrial PoE switches like the new generation IGS-4215-4P4T which provides IPv6/IPv4 dual stack management and built-in L2/L4 Gigabit switching engine along with 4 10/100/1000BASE-T ports having 30-watt 802.3at PoE+ and 4 additional Gigabit copper ports. Planet’s LRP-422CST, is a multi-channel, long reach PoE switch that allows extended ethernet and PoE networking of up to one kilometer over an existing coaxial cable, going to multiple PoE compliant devices. This is an ideal switch for building a power system for centrally-controlled IP cameras, for instance.

For a cost-effective way to integrate legacy 10Mbps network with 100Mbps fast ethernet network we have the EX42000 from EtherWAN. It is an unmanaged industrial switch that comes with 10/100Base-TX RJ45 ports and multimode or single mode fiber uplink ports (EW-420141A and EW-420142A).

To upgrade quickly to an existing system that can handle 10G ethernet speed while maintaining excellent signal quality, we have L-com’s Network Interface Cards (NIC). These are ten times faster than the existing cable. The RJ45 interface accepts Cat6a or Cat7 cables, eliminating the need to bring the fiber directly to the desktop. The NIC is also a great add-on for a network attached storage device (NAS), by providing a fast 10G uplink to archive large blocks of data quickly.

When off-the-shelf products won’t do, our team of experts is ready to help with custom products built to your exact specifications including for custom gains and frequencies, antenna lead lengths, or distinct OEM packaging. With low or no minimum order quantities and fast turnaround times, our custom wireless antennas can be the ideal solution for your next project.
