New standard of OEMs simplifies and improves picture quality & connection between computer and monitor

North Andover, MA – May 15th, 2008L-com is pleased to support the latest desktop, laptop and monitor offerings of OEMs by introducing DisplayPort cables to their product line-up for 2008.

DisplayPort, the new standard in digital interface technology, delivers a true digital experience to all PCs and monitors by making more efficient use of available bandwidth and delivering a more robust signal. DisplayPort supports the latest graphics and LCD technologies to vastly improve picture brightness and make device to device connections easier than ever before. The result is a vastly improved viewing experience on both computer monitors and home theatre systems.

Unlike devices configured with LVDS, DVI or VGA ports, DisplayPort ready devices can deliver high-definition audio and video paths through a single cable. That means greater signal integrity and a better picture. And the picture quality can be maintained over longer cable lengths than ever before.

Available now and supported by the over 180 member companies of VESA, DisplayPort is currently replacing DVI and LVDS interfaces and will eventually replace VGA ports in all devices.

L-com offers DisplayPort Cables in two configurations: standard male-to-male and an LSZH version designed for specialty applications. Both are available in two meter and three meter assemblies. For more information on the DisplayPort standard visit www.vesa.org or www.displayport.org.
