L-com Expands LSZH D-subminiature Cable Line with LSZH DB15 Cable Assemblies
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – 9/22/2010 – L-com, Inc, a global leader in the manufacture of wired and wireless connectivity products, has developed new DB15 male to male and male to female cable assemblies with black low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) jackets. The new cables join L-com’s existing DB25 and DB9 cables with LSZH jackets.
All LSZH jacketed cables are ideal for military and military-subcontracting customers because they significantly reduce the amount of toxic gases emitted during combustion when compared with standard PVC jackets. This is essential for confined areas like aircraft, submarines and shipboard.
“The men and women of our military absolutely require—and benefit from--LSZH jacketed cables,” said Steve Smith, L-com’s product manager in charge of D-sub products. “To use PVC in an enclosed space is unthinkable. I’m glad L-com is able to support our military’s efforts with quality-built LSZH D-subminiature products.”
All of L-com’s LSZH D-sub cables have 24AWG conductors, allowing users to send more current down the cables, as opposed to their standard D-sub cables (CSM, CSMN, and CS2N), which have 26AWG conductors.
