L-com Releases New 90 Degree Angled D-sub Cables
NORTH ANDOVER, MA - 04/24/14 - L-com, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, announced today that they have released further line of space-saving options for D-Sub applications with their new 90° angled D-Sub cable assemblies. These 90° D-Sub cables are designed for use in enclosures, cabinets or other confined-space applications where standard straight D-Sub backshells will not fit.
"As we've discovered with Ethernet, HDMI, USB and other cable types, our angled cable assemblies are becoming more and more popular with engineers and systems designers," said Steve Smith, Product Manager, "The 90 degree angle gives our customers the flexibility they need for confined space applications."
Each series offers four angle options, various cable lengths, and are available in DB9, DB15 and DB25 sizes. These rugged cable assemblies feature a straight D-Sub connector on one end and a 90° left, right, up or down exit D-Sub connector on the other. Custom versions can be manufactured with modest minimum requirements.
L-com's new D-Sub cables also utilize 360° shielding for protection against EMI/RFI and molded backshells which provide durability and increased strength at the cable entry point. Applications for these D-sub cables include RS232 serial communications, test and measurement applications, uninterruptible power supply communications and data networking. The RJ45 to DB9 connector can be used for backwards compatibility.
