New LC Fiber Optic Cables added to L-com Connectivity Products’ Fiber Optic line

North Andover, MA – April 17, 2007 – L-com, Inc., of North Andover, MA, has added two new fiber optic cable designs to its already extensive fiber optic cable assembly offering.

• The new FODLC-UNI- series Uniboot LC assemblies provide an integrated boot and clip design as well as a single 3.0mm jacket. These unique assemblies are available in either 62.5/125 or 50/125 styles and range from 1 to 10 meters in length.

• The FODLC-CL- series features clipped LC connectors and a duplex cable design and are available in 62.5/125, 50/125 and 9/125 styles.

• Along with these two new LC fiber optic cable designs, L-com continues to offer their standard FODLC- duplex LC fiber cables (not clipped).

Clips on LC connectors allow the two normally separate LC connectors on a duplex cable to function as one connector. This ability is sometimes prized by engineers as a way of “fool-proofing” patching these cables, as the A and B fibers can not be mixed up. However, in other situations the LC connectors must stretch apart to reach separate ports. L-com’s product offering will now include solutions to both scenarios off-the-shelf.

In addition to the stock products, L-com also offers custom-built lengths of these and all of its fiber optic cable assemblies. The combination of short lead times and low minimum order quantities has allowed them to maintain their leadership position in the fiber optic cable assembly industry.
