SATA Extension Cables Solve Common IT Problems
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – 6/10/2010 – L-com, Inc., a global leader in the manufacture of wired and wireless connectivity products, announced today that Serial ATA (SATA) extension cables are now available. The new cables would allow SATA data to reach further, extending internal communication in “big box” situations.
"Our IT Manager was having difficulty connecting a bulky disk on a module to a SATA connector on a tightly packed PCB. Our new SATA extension cables solved his problem by extending the SATA connector away from the PCB, where there's more room,” said Steve Smith, L-com’s Product Manager in charge of SATA products. He said, “Plus, extension cables are handy to have for any interface. Sometimes existing cables just don't reach." These cables utilize male to female connectors, bright red PVC cable jackets and gold-plated contacts. L-com is offering both 12” and 20” lengths right now.
