That’s why we offer the option of custom enclosures tailored to your exact needs. With low or no minimum order quantities and fast turnaround times, our custom NEMA designs can be the ideal solution for your next project.
Below we describe six ways we can customize your NEMA enclosure. We conclude with a list of accessories that allow you to customize an enclosure yourself.
Custom Pre-Installed Equipment
One custom service we offer is to send you a NEMA enclosure with some or all of the components already installed based on your specifications. This turnkey approach saves you time, and with our expert installers you are ensured the highest quality, most reliable setup. We know the ins and outs of our products and might even be able to suggest improvements to your configuration.
Custom Mounting Plates and DIN Rails
Mounting plates and DIN rails allow you to securely mount equipment inside your NEMA enclosure. We can custom configure a mounting plate to your specs and install it, or you can order a blank mounting plate and do it yourself. Our mounting plates are made of aluminum or, for RF applications, nonmetallic starboard. The size options (5 x 7 inches, 22 x 14, etc.) correspond with our different series of enclosures. We have pre-assembled mounting plates that fit our enclosures so you (or we) can remove the old assembly plate and screw in the new one.
We can also install DIN rails inside an enclosure for secure supports for your DIN-mount equipment.
Custom Temperature Controls
In certain environments you need to do more for your sensitive electronics than keep them clean and dry. Protection from temperature extremes is essential. That’s why another custom service we provide is to install temperature controls inside a NEMA enclosure. Our vast inventory includes heaters and cooling fans that are thermostat-controlled to keep interior temperatures at certain levels.
If necessary, we could install air vents or recommend an enclosure with more vents. A related option is installing a vent shroud filter kit to allow air flow without dirt and dust particles.
We also have a large selection of off-the-shelf industrial-grade NEMA enclosures that are cooled and heated, cooled only, heated only and/or vented.
Custom Ports
Our standard NEMA enclosures have bottom ports conveniently placed for cable connection. If you are ordering an enclosure, we can also customize it by enlarging or adding ports of any size to meet your specific requirements. If you need to cover a port not in use, or to install a moisture and debris seal around a cable passing through a port, we offer watertight hole plugs for round openings of various sizes, as well as D-cut and H-cut hole plugs.
Custom Lids
NEMA enclosure lids prevent damage and theft of internal equipment and must be robust enough to keep functioning with repeated opening and closing. You might consider changing out the lid on your NEMA box. Options include removable lids, metallic or nonmetallic hinges, lids that can be secured with a padlock, vented lids, and lids with clear viewing windows for monitoring equipment.
Custom Graphics and Colors
To help give an installation a more professional, branded look, and to make it easy to identify, we offer digital labeling and logo printing on enclosures, with full CMYK color. This custom option is ideal for OEM applications.
